What is Georgia Gives Day?

Thursday November 13, 2014 is the 3rd annual “Georgia Gives Day,” a statewide collaboration organized by the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN). This day of giving is really about us all – it’s about everyone pulling together to support the organizations and causes right in our own backyards and across the state that have been a part of our lives since day one.

We at Georgia Cancer Support reach out to you, our Friends, Donors, and Volunteers, to “Click to Give” this Thursday, so we can do a lot for Georgia Cancer Support patients, who we all care about. Whether you have $1 or $5 to give, it all adds up to greater impact on helping our cancer patients in Middle Georgia. Your donation will help with our Mission of providing resources and support in all areas, while we focus on the individual needs of each patient. We minister to and provide service through networking, researching, education, and community service. Our Volunteers, Educators, and Outreach Partners work tirelessly to make a difference in each patient’s life.

Whether it’s the esophageal cancer patient whose food stamp benefits were cut, leaving him with no way to eat; whether its divorced cancer patient with children, desperate to feed and clothe her

family; whether it’s you, newly diagnosed with cancer, full of questions, fear, and not knowing where to turn: Georgia Cancer Support can help.

How Can I Help Georgia Cancer Support for Georgia Gives Day?

It’s simple! Choose an amount of $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, or enter another amount, as little as $1 or as much as you want! Georgia Cancer Support is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, so your donations are tax deductible. Give any amount you are able, knowing that your contribution is vitally important to the cancer patients and families we help.

What’s At Stake?
Every charitable organization in Georgia that has registered with the GNC for this event will take part in this powerful awareness/ giving day. Nonprofits located in Baldwin, Bibb, and Muscogee counties are offered extra prizes for participation, underwritten by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. From their generosity, an additional $34,000 for Baldwin is available for non-profits! Examples of these include: a $5,000 award for most number of donors; a $2,500 award for most dollars raised; a $1,000 award for most donors in a specified time (Power Hour), and a $500 award for most tweets using a charity’s unique hashtag. So with the additional prize dollars at stake, Georgia Cancer Support needs you in their corner, working to reach those numbers, providing even more relief for cancer patients in the Middle Georgia area.

Thank you for your help and donations ~Georgia Cancer Support*

Georgia Gives Day is really about us all – it’s about everyone pulling together to support the organizations and causes right in our own backyards and across the state that have been a part of our lives since day one.
So, we are asking all Georgians, on November 13th, to give a little and share a little so that, together, we can do a lot for the causes that we all care about. Whether you have $10 or $10,000 to give, it all adds up to greater impact on the issues that support and enrich our lives and make our local communities thrive.
